Happy New Year! A new year is a lovely time to think about how we can look after ourselves. Keeping our mind and body healthy helps us feel better and January is a great time to start some easy ideas.

Being a sibling can be lots of fun, but sometimes things can feel tricky too – and that’s ok. That’s why it’s good to have little ways to help ourselves feel calmer and happier.

One easy way to relax is by trying a short mindfulness game:

  • Name 5 things you can see
  • 4 things you can feel
  • 3 things you can hear
  • 2 things you can smell
  • 1 thing you can taste

Moving your body can help too! Try 5 star jumps, 4 jumps on the spot and 3 big stretches to start with. You can do more if you feel like it!

You might also enjoy colouring, building Lego, doing a puzzle or reading a book – just having a little time for you. These little things you can do each day don’t take long, but they can really help.
