Reading books together can be a valuable way to help siblings explore their identity, strengthen their connection with their brother or sister, and feel more confident asking questions. Seeing their own experiences reflected in stories can be incredibly reassuring and validating.

We have created a regularly updated book list for young siblings, organised by age group:

  • Early Years (ages 3–5)
  • Key Stage 1 & 2 (ages 5–7 and 7–11)
  • Key Stage 3 & 4 (ages 11–14 and 14–16)

You can download the list below. Please take a look and share it with families, schools, and anyone who may find it helpful. Many of the books are available through local libraries.

We review and update the list regularly. If you know of a book that you think should be included, please get in touch – we’d love to hear from you. Just email [email protected]
