August Spotlight Blog for Young Siblings

Do you ever feel like you really want to get everything right – and getting things wrong feels really hard?

If you feel this way, you are not alone. Lots of siblings with disabled brothers and sisters feel this way – and it makes complete sense. Sometimes when life at home feels complicated, it can feel really important to get things right.

But nobody gets everything right. Not even the most famous footballers in the world!

Marcus Rashford – one of England’s best known footballers – once said:

“It’s okay to make mistakes and for things to go wrong – what’s more important is that you have the right recovery from it.”

In other words – don’t let a mistake stop you from trying again. It’s all part of learning.

Getting things wrong is part of life – and it’s how we learn and grow.

Top Tip: Next time you get something wrong, try saying to yourself – ‘That’s okay.  I’m learning.’  It might just help!

Remember – it’s okay to not be perfect. Nobody is. 💛
