Siblings tell us they often have feelings of guilt towards their brother or sister and it upsets them to feel this way.
They might have these feelings because they feel bad that they are able to do things their brother or sister can’t do, or that they want to have time away from them sometimes and play with their own friends or toys. They may also feel angry with their brother or sister because they get more time with their parents.
These feelings can be tricky, but it is OK to have them. Writing them down can help. Speaking with a parent or a grown-up about how you feel might help you feel better about them. Remember it is ok for you to have your own friends and time away from your brother or sister.
