I feel anxious a lot of the time

Feeling anxious can make you feel tired, upset, worried, shaky or light-headed. For most people, it’s normal to feel anxious from time to time. But feeling this way for a lot of the time can make it hard to enjoy life. It’s important to get help if you are feeling anxious.

Some things you can do if you are feeling anxious

1

Talk to a parent, friend or teacher about how you are feeling.

2

Write down your feelings in a diary at first, if you find it difficult to talk.

3

Go to a quiet place, like your bedroom and practice deep breathing to help you to relax.

4

Distract yourself if you are feeling anxious by doing something different like colouring in, a crossword puzzle or a jigsaw.

When I feel anxious, I take some deep breaths and then go and talk to my mum. Just telling her how I’m feeling really helps.
