I feel jealous

Siblings tell us that they feel jealous when their brother or sister gets all the attention. It can be easy to feel ignored sometimes. Jealousy is a very uncomfortable feeling but it is quite normal. Everyone feels jealous now and again.

Things you can do if you feel jealous

1

Tell your mum or dad that you feel jealous. It will help them to know how you feel.

2

Ask your mum or dad to ask relatives and friends to be fair with presents – you deserve stuff too!

3

Ask your parent to read about ways to give siblings attention on our parent pages.

I tell my dad all about my day in the car on the way home from school. It’s just me and him and I really enjoy that time because I know he’s paying attention to me.
