A fun way to learn about different emotions, using musical instruments
A selection of simple musical or percussion instruments, such as:
Xylophone
Cymbals
Tambourine
Trumpet
Tin whistle
Recorder
Drum
(Just 2 or 3 of these should do)
Paper and pencil
Write different feelings onto pieces of paper. Fold them up and put them into a suitable container.
The sibling selects a piece of paper and looks at the feeling.
The sibling picks an instrument and plays it in such a way as to express the feeling. You have to guess what the feeling is.
Repeat by taking turns to choose a feeling and play the intrument.
Thanks to Neil Eaves at Rainbows Hospice for this idea.
