Targets

Purpose

  • To encourage siblings to think about what they want to achieve during by the final session.
  • A guide for workers who may be able to adapt the session structures according to the needs that the siblings themselves identify.
  • A tool for evaluating outcomes for individual siblings and the group as a whole, depending on reporting requirements for the sessions.

The forms complement the 'This is me' form that siblings completed during the pregroup visit.

You will need

A copy of the form for each sibling. Download target form

How to do it

The first sheet should be completed in week one or two of the sessions to set goals that the siblings wish to achieve. The second sheet should be completed in the final session for siblings to scale their own progress.

Make the completion of the forms an individual task for the siblings; stress that this is their chance to think about why they are attending the groups.

There are a variety of ways to scale. Workers can adapt the form using pictures and interesting scales to make it fit the age range of the children attending the groups.
