Purpose
This is good as a closing activity to a session when the siblings have got to know each other. Giving and receiving a compliment does not always come naturally so this is a lovely skill to encourage in the siblings.
You will need
Sheets of paper and pens
How to do it
Write each sibling's name at the top of the piece of paper.
Starting on the bottom of the paper ask everyone to write a compliment or a personal quality about them on a separate line (e.g. happy smile, calm nature).
Turn the paper up each time so the next person is unable to read it.
Return the paper to the named person and ask them to read aloud the compliments.
Some siblings may find that reading out compliments is embarrassing so will need encouragement from workers.
Or
Each person has a sheet for one person and writes the compliment.
The sheets are then gathered into a box and everyone takes a turn to read a comment and guess who it relates to.
Maybe 'calm nature' was not the phrase anyone wrote about you but if someone guessed it was, that is nice too!
And
The compliments can be the basis of an award ceremony. Workers can add the compliment to a certificate or shield to present to them.
