Session 8 Families to be proud of and special me

Purpose
Siblings share their stories of good times in their families. They also express their appreciation of each other.

10	Warm up game. Have a quiz. Encourage siblings to work together in two teams. Everyone should receive a prize for taking part.	Questions & prizes
10	Welcomes. Explain the session and start to prepare the siblings for endings. Next week is the final discussion session.
30	Discussion activity. Siblings may have explored some difficult feelings and times within the group and this is a chance to recognise the important role that everyone in the family plays. Encourage siblings to think of good times within their family and when they get on well with their sibling.	Salt jars Salt, jars with lids, chalks
10	Break	Snacks & drinks
40	Discussion activity. This is an opportunity for siblings to express appreciation of their own and each other's contribution to the sibling group. Write down some of the compliments to use on certificates next week.	Gift boxes Boxes,paper slips, pens
