Knee tapping
Purpose
To have fun and boost energy levels
You will need
Space, chairs for all, and a 'kneetapper of rolles up newspaper
How to do it
Everyone sits in a circle of chairs. There is an empty chair in the middle. One of the group is chosen to be the 'kneetapper'. He/she walks around the inside of the circle and taps someone gently on the knee with the tapper. The 'kneetapper' rushes to the middle of the circle and places the tapper securely on the chair and runs to the seat of the person who was tapped. In the meantime the person who was tapped has run to the middle, grabbed the tapper from the chair, and tries to tap the 'kneetapper' on the back of the knee before the 'kneetapper' has managed to sit down. If the 'kneetapper' is tapped, he/she is on again. If the 'kneetapper' gets to sit down, then the other person becomes the new 'kneetapper'
If the tapper falls off the chair due to being placed on the edge, the person who put it there has to return to put it back on properly before continuing. In the meantime the other person will be waiting near the chair ready to grab the tapper.
NB. Best to see this one in action before doing it! And it can get very boisterous so ask the children to tap gently without hurting.
