Help for carers

Many adult siblings are carers for their disabled brothers and sisters and some are also caring for sick or elderly parents. Whatever level of care you provide, you will need information about what help and support is available for you.

We recommend that you visit the Carers UK website for the most up to date information about all matters relating to carers.

The information section of their website provides detailed information on financial help, help with caring, combining work and care, when your caring role ends, and where to get help in your local area. www.carersuk.org/Information

If you are new to caring you can download the Carers UK booklet 'New to Caring'. An essential guide to help those who have recently become a carer. New to caring contains advice from experienced carers and covers all the basics that one needs to know about the financial, practical and emotional aspects of caring – and the range of help available.
